Chetica Ranch is located in Costa Rica, Central America. San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica, and is ranked as one of the most visited international destinations.
One of Costa Rica’s main sources of income is tourism. It is a democratic and peaceful country, and has not had an army since 1949. Colones is the national currency, but dollars are welcome in most parts of the country. Major credit cards are welcome also; it is not necessary to exchange your dollars for colones at home or at the airport. If bringing cash, please bring small denominations; anything over a $20 bill will mean a trip to the bank as most places will not accept a large bill. Torn, old, marked, inked, ie. “dirty” bills won’t be accepted; clean bills are always welcomed. You will need small denominations for tips, also.
Although the country is small, it proudly shelters 5% of the existing biodiversity in the entire world. 25.58 % of the country is composed of conservation and natural protected territory even though it covers only 0.03% of the surface of the globe. Costa Rica’s future is bright, thanks to the outstanding academic level of its population, as well as the high standard of modern services and social and political stability.
